The man said he was trying to attract people to the Golden Triangle Tactical gun store. The "Tactical Banana" is the shop's mascot.
Police said they briefly detained the 18-year-old man, who had a 50-round magazine clip on him. He was cited for breaking city rules against soliciting for business alongside highways.
