Baby in Coma After Police ‘Grenade’ Dropped in Crib During Drug Raid
The raid occurred before dawn Wednesday night in Habersham County while the Phonesavanh family was sleeping.
“It was a big flash, a loud bang, a bunch of yelling, and my son screaming,” the boy’s mom, Alecia Phonesavanh, 27, told ABC News.
“Two of my other girls were next to my husband. There was a member of the SWAT team pinning him down, another man had my son who was screaming and crying,” Phonesavanh said. “At that time I didn’t see his playpen, but I kept telling him to ‘Please just give him to me,’” Phonesavanh said of 19-month-old son Bounkham. “‘He’s just scared.’”
According to Phonesavanh, authorities reassured her that everything was fine, “‘He’s okay, he’s just fine, there’s nothing wrong with him,’” she recalled through tears. “They lied to me. They kept telling me my son was okay,” she said. “When I saw his playpen I just about threw up. I got really sick, I was so scared.”
“That picture is enough to traumatize anybody knowing that there was a baby lying there,” Phonesavanh said.
When police raided the house early Wednesday morning, they dropped a “flash bang” which police concede landed and exploded in the child’s portable crib. “It landed in his playpen and exploded on his pillow right in his face,” Phonesavanh told ABC’s Atlanta affiliate, WSB-TV.
Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell told ABC News, “It felt like somebody just hit me in the gut with a sledgehammer when I heard. I got the call at about 2:25 a.m. and I just didn’t sleep no more the rest of the night.”
“That’s pretty much how the rest of the guys on our team felt… it brings tears quite regularly these days, and I’m not ashamed to admit it,” Terrell said. The sheriff said that the Special Response Team, SRT, did the best they could with the information they were given.
A confidential informant was sent to the residence on Tuesday to make a buy for methamphetamine, Terrell said. At the time of the purchase, there were two Mercedes SUVs parked in the driveway, with a guard standing at the front door and the back door. The informant did not enter home and made the alleged purchase in the doorway, the sheriff said.
“It was really uncomfortable, and really intimidating. The informant made the purchase and left the residence,” Terrell said. “He didn’t see anything to indicate that there was a child in the house.” After the buy, the SRT came back with a no-knock warrant to arrest the suspected dealer.

Maria Belen Rodriguez Says she is not a prostitute and sues Google and Yahoo
Rodriguez has been waging war against the search engines began in 2006, when she first discovered that older images of her were being linked to adult-oriented websites. In 2010, a judge awarded her $15,000 for both lawsuits, which was eventually reduced to $6,200 by a higher Argentine court.
Eight years later, Rodriguez is suing Google for the right to have the links taken down, claiming that her name’s association with porn websites has done irreversible harm to her reputation. “She has a family and young children,” her attorney told reporters. “We are also seeking compensatory damages, which is obvious because whoever harms somebody has to repair the damage.”
Google, for its part, says that the creators of the pornographic websites linking to Rodriguez’s images (who are not named in the suit) should be responsible for taking the links down, not the search engine itself: “Search engines are neutral platforms that do not create or control content on the web,” the company said in a statement to CNN. Argentine civil rights groups agree, arguing that Rodriguez’s attempts to scrub her Google search results are tantamount to censorship.
This is not the first time someone has turned to the courts to get embarrassing or defamatory search results taken down. In 2009, Bev Stayart unsuccessfully sued Yahoo after discovering the search engine linked her name to erectile dysfunction medication, and in 2012, an Australian court ruled that Google had to pay $200,000 to a man whose “defamatory” search results inadvertently linked him to a major crime syndicate, resulting in him beingshot in the back.
Although search engines and Internet freedom advocates have said that individuals should not be able to manipulate their own search results, arguing that such a right, if exercised, would be akin to press censorship, this argument was dealt a blow earlier this month, following a European top court ruling that individuals had the “right to be forgotten.” The ruling required Google to grant all individual requests to take down links containing “inadequate, irrelevant, or no longer relevant” information.
While the recent EU ruling should have been welcome news to Rodriguez, she doesn’t seem too optimistic about the outcome of her lawsuit. “I am an ant fighting against a giant monster,” she told reporters of her battle against the search engines.
I can't imagine why Google and Yahoo could possibly mix her images with porn related sites lol

Kate Middleton’s bare behind upskirt published on the front page of German tabloid magazine
When will this woman learn? This sort of things can easily be avoided. Pictures of the Duchess of Cambridge’s bare bottom were published online by a German magazine. The revealing pictures were taken when Kate’s blue and white Diane Von Furstenberg dress blew up on a visit to Sydney’s Blue mountains during her official tour of Australia last month.
No British magazine or newspaper would publish them so they were sold overseas in a move that will deeply dismay Prince William and Kate. The tabloid featured the shot on their website along with another picture of Kate during her visit to Canada back in 2011 when her yellow Jenny Packham dress did exactly the same thing.
Both pictures, though taken on two different occasion and years apart, were taken shortly after she disembarked from a helicopter, with the wind from the propellers causing her dress to blow up. The photographs have sparked comments online about why Kate doesn’t wear weights in her hems like the Queen to avoid future wardrobe mishaps.
One Twitter user wrote: “Why doesn’t she weight her hems?” Kate and William are no stranger to frequent battles to protect their privacy and modesty by preventing the publication of photographs. The most notable case was when topless pictures of Kate appeared in a French magazine in September 2012 taken on their holiday to a Provence Chateaux.
The couple launched legal proceedings and issued a statement saying: “They have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and unjustifiable manner. “This is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the paparazzi during Diana’s life and the more upsetting to the duke and duchess for being so.”
So the question remains, is this fair game? Should she wear panties? Should she be more careful? Is she deliberately doing this? And finally, who really cares and why?

Linkin Park aka Linkin Narc called cops on Sublime With Rome over Marijuana
Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington had a long history of struggling with drug addiction, so it’s not necessarily surprising that LP would take this sort of thing seriously. Sublime With Rome are currently working on a new album, the follow-up 2011′s Yours Truly, which set for a 2015 release. Linkin Park will release The Hunting Party on June 17 via Warner Bros.
Rome also call the band “Linkin Nark,” which is actually pretty funny. Check out some tweets from him below. (Also, you can watch footage of the band performing at KFMA, with plenty of smoke clouds, below.)
UPDATE: Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda has now come out and said that LP did not call the cops on Sublime With Rome. Check out the tweets from Shinoda below:
and a video for fun too...

Read Elliot Rodger's full transcript manifesto!
Introduction Humanity…
All of my suffering on this world has been at the hands of humanity, particularly women. It has made me realize just how brutal and twisted humanity is as a species. All I ever wanted was to fit in and live a happy life amongst humanity, but I was cast out and rejected, forced to endure an existence of loneliness and insignificance, all because the females of the human species were incapable of seeing the value in me.
This is the story of how I, Elliot Rodger, came to be. This is the story of my entire life. It is a dark story of sadness, anger, and hatred. It is a story of a war against cruel injustice. In this magnificent story, I will disclose every single detail about my life, every single significant experience that I have pulled from my superior memory, as well as how those experiences have shaped my views of the world. This tragedy did not have to happen. I didn’t want things to turn out this way, but humanity forced my hand, and this story will explain why. My life didn’t start out dark and twi sted. I started out as a happy and blissful child, living my life to the fullest in a world I thought was good and pure…
Part One A Blissful Beginning Age 0-5
On the morning of July 24 th , 1991, in a London hospital, I was born. I breathed in the first breath of life as I entered this world, weighing only 5.4 pounds. My parents must have been filled with happiness and pride that day. They had just witnessed the birth of their first child, and they named me Elliot Oliver Robertson Rodger. I was born to young parents. My father, Peter Rodger, was only 26 when he impregnated my mother, Chin, who was 30. Peter is of British descent, hailing from the prestigious Rodger family; a family that was once part of the wealthy upper classes before they lost all of their fortune during the Great Depression. My father’s father
, George Rodger, was a renowned photojournalist who had taken very famous photographs during the Second World War, though he failed to reacquire the family’s lost fortune. My mother is of Chinese descent. She was born in Malaysia, and moved to England at a young age to work as a nurse on several film sets, where she became friends with very important individuals in the film industry, including George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. She even dated George Lucas for a short time. My mother and father had been married for a couple of years before my mother became pregnant with me. In fact, her pregnancy was an accident. She had been taking pills to prevent pregnancy, but when she visited my father on one of his film sets, she fell ill and the medication she took for that illness thwarted the effect of the anti-pregnancy pills, and so their lovemaking during this period resulted in my life. Only a couple of months after my birth, I went on my first vacation. My parents took me on a boat to France. I was already a traveler! Of course, I have no memories of this trip. My mother said that I cried a lot.
He wrote: “How could an inferior ugly black boy be able to get a white girlfriend and not me. I am beautiful half white myself."

Inside Santa Barbara Killer's Manifesto
A 141-page memoir details the jealousy and anger Elliot Rodger felt before he killed six people in a furious rampage near the University of California, Santa Barbara.
"All I ever wanted was to fit in and live a happy life amongst humanity, but I was cast out and rejected, forced to endure an existence of loneliness and insignificance, all because the females of the human species were incapable of seeing the value in me," he wrote in the document, titled "My Twisted World."
Police identified Rodger, 22, as the shooter, a man who videotaped his rage over his rejection by women and vowed "retribution" just hours before the killing began. He was also identified as the killer by a lawyer for his father Peter Rodger, who was the assistant director for one of the “Hunger Games” films.
In the manifesto, Rodger described police visiting him after he uploaded several videos to YouTube. A member of his family asked police to check on him because of alarm over his behavior and videos.
"As soon as I saw those cops, the biggest fear I had ever felt in my life overcame me," he wrote. "I had the striking and devastating fear that someone had somehow discovered what I was planning to do, and reported me for it."
In a YouTube video titled "Elliot Rodger's Retribution" that he posted before the killing spree began, Rodger sat in the driver's seat of a car as he promised "retribution" and discussed his "loneliness, rejection and unfulfilled desires."
"Girls gave their affection and sex and love to other men but never to me," he said in the video, which he added would be his last.
Rodger also expressed the jealousy he felt toward his younger brother, who he described as socially savvy.
"It is very unfair how some boys are able to live such pleasurable lives while I never had any taste of it, and now it has been confirmed to me that my little brother will become one of them," Rodger wrote in the manifesto. "He will become a popular kid who gets all the girls. Girls will love him. He will become one of my enemies."

Why the U.S. Is Charging China With Cyberspying on American Companies
The United States is charging the Chinese military with hacking into the computers of American companies in order to gain valuable trade secrets, marking the first time the U.S. has brought a criminal case against a foreign government for cyberspying.
Attorney General Eric Holder announced Monday an indictment of five officers of China's People's Liberation Army for breaches against six American companies. The charges follow an investigation by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh that concluded China's military officers conspired to hack into the computers of Westinghouse Electric, Alcoa, Allegheny Technologies, U.S. Steel, the United Steelworkers Union, and SolarWorld.
"When a foreign nation uses intelligence resources and tools against an American executive or corporation to obtain trade secrets or sensitive information for the benefit of state-owned companies, we must say 'enough is enough,' " Holder said. "This administration will not tolerate actions by any nation that seeks to illegally sabotaged American companies and undermines their competition in the operation of the free market."
Holder added: "Our economic security and our ability to compete fairly in the global marketplace are directly linked to our national security.… This case should serve as a wake-up call to the seriousness of the ongoing cyberthreat."

After Modi's big win, is the Gandhi family dynasty over in India?
By Annie Gowen and Rama Lakshmi, Saturday, May 17, 4:57 PM
NEW DELHI — On Friday, as opposition leader Narendra Modi swept to victory and fireworks exploded throughout the capital, the mood at the governing Congress party headquarters was grim.
Late in the afternoon, the mother and son who lead India’s oldest political dynasty finally emerged to speak to supporters and journalists.
“There’s a lot for us to think about,” said a chastened Rahul Gandhi, the party’s heir apparent and chief campaigner. “As vice president of the party, I hold myself responsible for what has happened.”
But then, as he stepped aside to let his mother speak, he smiled — some observers thought with relief. The Twitterverse took note.
Gandhi, whose lineage includes three prime ministers, had been groomed for India’s top job for a decade. But his evident ambivalence about the prospect was among the drivers of the Indian National Congress party’s worst drubbing in its history, analysts said. The party won just 44 seats in the 543-seat lower house of Parliament, while Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party took 282 in a landslide.
Even before the Gandhis departed without taking questions, the postmortem had begun: The Congress party was out of touch with voters, analysts said. Its leaders were corrupt and inefficient. And unlike the canny chief minister preparing for his triumphant arrival in the capital, they had missed India’s moment. Even its own members, still dazed by the enormity of defeat, could see that.
India’s Modi Moves From Outcast to Invited Guest to U.S.
LANDSLIDE VICTORY!
India’s Narendra Modi went from international outcast to invited guest, as the U.S. and U.K. saluted his opposition bloc’s triumph in national elections.U.S. President Barack Obama called Modi to congratulate him on his party’s success and invited him “to visit Washington at a mutually agreeable time to further strengthen our bilateral relationship,” according to a White House statement. Modi already has accepted an invitation to visit the U.K., according to a statement from Prime Minister David Cameron’s office.
After anti-Muslim riots in 2002 in Gujarat, the state that Modi has governed since 2001, U.K. and U.S. officials refused to meet with him. The U.S. denied him a visa after human rights groups accused him of not moving to halt the carnage. Modi has repeatedly denied the accusations and a Supreme Court-appointed panel found no evidence he gave orders that prevented assistance from reaching those being attacked.
Relationships have improved more recently, with the U.K. High Commissioner meeting Modi 19 months ago and the U.S. ambassador doing the same in February.
The Obama administration congratulated India “on an historic national election, which saw more voters cast their ballots freely and fairly than in any election in human history,” White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters in Washington.
Cameron said on his office’s official Twitter account that he is “keen to work together to get the most from the U.K.- India relationship.”

Obama Backs Away From Net Neutrality Campaign Promises After FCC Vote
Barack Obama was crystal clear during the 2008 campaign about his commitment to ensuring equal treatment of all online content over American broadband lines. “I will take a backseat to no one in my commitment to network neutrality,” Obama told a crowd at Google in 2008. “Because once providers start to privilege some applications or websites over others then the smaller voices get squeezed out and we all lose.”
At a 2007 campaign forum, he went so far as to specifically promise that his Federal Communications Commission appointments would defend the principle of a “level playing field for whoever has the best idea.” “As president, I am going to make sure that that is the principle that my FCC commissioners are applying as we move forward,” he said.
But on Thursday, the President made no public statement when three Democrats he appointed to the FCC voted to move forward with a plan to allow broadband carriers to provide an exclusive “fast lane” to commercial companies that pay extra fees to get their content transmitted online. Instead, White House aides released a press release distancing the President from the decision.

South Dakota News Anchor's Rant Makes Her Web's Newest Star | Trending Now - Yahoo News
Days after a South Dakota news anchor became the Internet’s latest star, she tells Trending Now that she has no regrets about her off-the-cuff on-air rant.
KSFY anchor Nancy Naeve's rise to YouTube celebrity began on Sunday night. Her co-worker at the ABC affiliate in Sioux Falls, meteorologist Shawn Cable, broke in to regularly scheduled programming to report a confirmed tornado in the area. The tornado touched down in Hospers, Iowa, which is about 70 miles from Sioux Falls.
Viewers, however, were outraged and took to the phone and Facebook to complain about Cable interrupting the season finale of "Once Upon A Time."
On Monday morning on the air, Cable showed footage of the tornado and then apologized for interrupting a TV show the night before. Next to him was Naeve, who fiercely rose to his defense.
"No show is as important as someone's life," Naeve states. "But I tell you what. If it was your home and your neighbors, you would feel differently. So please don't do that. That's not nice."
Naeve's impassioned plea was posted to YouTube by Cable, and it has been viewed more than 283,000 times. If anyone can relate to the situation, it is fellow meteorologists such as Bill Evans of WABC-TV in New York.
"I feel overwhelmed," Naeve wrote in an email to Trending Now. "I've had an outpouring of emails, Facebook messages and tweets from Meteorologists across the country thanking me for taking a stand. It's been great hearing from everyone."
Meteorologists such as Bill Evans of WABC-TV in New York can relate to the initial viewer reactions.
"Because we're in the tristate area, if you have thunderstorms in New Jersey, people from New York will go, 'I don't care what's going in Jersey, and you're interrupting "Grey's Anatomy,"'" he told us. "Or (the storms will) be in New York, and it'll be the same thing in Jersey or Long Island."

Jill Abramson fired for seeking equal pay considered too pushy!
The New Yorker reports that Abramson was seen as "pushy" for demanding equal pay
The announcement, today, that Jill Abramson was departing her job as executive editor of the New York Times prompted much speculation across the media. Abramson, appointed in 2011, had enjoyed a relatively brief tenure and one riven by nasty, critical coverage, particularly in Politico. Howard Kurtz, a Fox News media reporter, noted that there’s “Gotta be a backstory there.”
Ken Auletta of the New Yorker has reported on Abramson in the past, and today reports that there indeed was: that Abramson recently learned her pay package was not commensurate with that of her predecessor, Bill Keller, and sought parity. Auletta reports: “‘She confronted the top brass,’ one close associate said, and this may have fed into the management’s narrative that she was ‘pushy,’ a characterization that, for many, has an inescapably gendered aspect.” The counterargument to Abramson’s pay request, predictably, is that ownership did not want to outlay more money in a difficult time for print media, but in an update, Auletta notes that a deputy of Abramson’s, a man, made more money than she did while she was managing editor.
Auletta also indicates that Abramson clashed with the paper’s publisher over hiring decisions, particularly as relates to the digital side, and offended managing editor Dean Baquet by not consulting him. (Baquet has been named Abramson’s successor.)

Ukraine crisis: Putin visit to Crimea angers US and EU
The US and EU have condemned President Vladimir Putin's first visit to Crimea since Russia annexed the peninsula from Ukraine in March.
The US state department said the trip was "provocative and unnecessary". The Kiev government called it a "gross violation of Ukraine's sovereignty".
Mr Putin praised Crimea for joining Russia, as he marked the Soviet victory over the Nazis in World War Two.
As he visited, there were deadly new clashes in south-eastern Ukraine.
Ukraine's Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said at least 20 pro-Russian activists and a Ukrainian security officer died in the clashes in the port of Mariupol.
The government said there was a gun battle when pro-Russian activists tried to storm a police HQ.
However, some local witnesses accused the security forces of opening fire on unarmed protesters who had entered the building. Local officials put the casualties at seven dead and 39 injured.

Really Police? Was This All You Could Think Of To Raise Money For Grieving Families?
The depravity is strong with these folks. Is there not a better way to help grieving families of fallen officers?
Only in Copland, would tasering a girl in a bikini seem like a legitimate charity stunt.
“Here is your check Mrs. Smith, we tasered a young woman in a bikini to show our support for you husband who was killed in action.”
According to the video description, bystanders donated $100 each to watch the event.
After the shock wears off, the professionals clean her up and pull Taser detritus off her. “There’s one on the ass,” says one. To which the woman responds: “At least I know what it feels like now.”
And now for your moment of WTF?!
