One of the best scenes in the classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off takes place at the Chicago Art Institute

According to the film's commentary from it's late director, John Hughes, the museum scene was "self indulgent" and his chance to show off the works of art that had meant so much to him and a place that he spent a lot of time in as a youth.

According to Hughes, "I always thought this painting was sort of like making a movie... You don't have any idea what you've made until you step back."
